Find out the direction of a vector without calculating tan inverse (arc-tan function)

Here is a very simple method that help you to find the angle of the a vector without knowing the value of tan inverse function

we just need a pen, ruler and a protractor

direction of a vector without calculator, vector,direction of a vector,magnitude and direction of a vector,direction,how to find the direction of a vector,component form of a vector,how to find direction of a vector,finding the direction of a vector,how to determine the direction of a vector,magnitude of a vector,how to find magnitude and direction of a vector,vectors,how to find the magnitude and direction of a vector,direction of a given vector,direction angle of a vector

for example, asking to find the direction of the following vector

A = 50 i + 100 j

 first we reduce the vector so that we can draw the vector on a page .

To reduce the size of a vector, a scalar can do it by multiplying a scalar with the given vector. for instant resizing the vector A we multiply 1/10 with vector A in such a way that our new vector can  fit on a notebook page

Now draw the reduce vector on a page and measure the angle with the help of a protractor as shown in the following figure

Hence the direction of the given vector  is 60 degree
